First and foremost, Happy memorial day. I wanted to take this brief moment to recognize, honor, and respect those who serve in are United States Armed Forces and those who have died while serving, both men and women. I appreciate you and I appreciate being a part of your team. Thank you.

Accept my apologies
For I have been gone for over half a year! That is so very unacceptable but I never bought a laptop like I said I would. I've been so busy spending my money on other things that, as I've said before, haven't had the desire to purchase one. I figured since I have an iPad and I have this blogger app (which, while I'm talking about it, they need to make one for iPads) that I'd post a little something today. I felt like "dressing up." a casual but cutesy little outfit I threw together. It's minimal items but it works for me. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. I'm TRYING to get back into my blogging nature but bare with me, it's not so easy lol. Toodles dolls. . .
Love,
Sabine Oh!

Just checking in
(via webcam)
- Memorial weekend was a complete bust, the beaches were filled beyond capacity.
- I got to wear my (not so) new bathing suit that I bought a while back, but since the beach was full it served no purpose.
- THE HEAT MADE IT TO THE FINALS
- I took my confirmation ASVAB test, so meps is the next step.
- I made my goal for wearing this protective style for a month.
- HELLO MONTH OF JUNE, my birthday is in exactly 19 days.
- I'm turning 22, just in case you wanted to know.

Dedication: The woman who gave me life
Dear mom,
I won't make this long because I know your attention span is short lol. We've had and continue to have our ups and downs but I can honestly say that I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't around. I continue to hope that our relationship will get better and I look forward to the days that we'll be able to hang out without getting under each others skin. Though today isn't going as planned, I'm glad to spend this moment with you and when I have a job (lol) I promise to shower you with gifts for the future mother's days to come b/c you deserve it. Of course material possessions aren't everything, it's the least I could do to give you something to remember and show that you are appreciated. All I'm really trying to say is I love you and I thank you, Happy Mother's Day ♥
From the bottom of my heart,
Sabine

Week(end) Recap

So aside from the obvious "new hair" (protective style) I just wanted to do an updated weekly recap. Thursday was Cinco de Mayo, I hope everyone had a great little celebration. I had a couple people over and we made dinner and had a few drinks. Unfortunately I decided not to drink because I was [retaking] my ASVAB the following morning. If you want to know more about how that went (because believe me it's quite a story) I'll be making a video soon on my youtube channel talking about it. Anywho, today I had an early dinner with a few family members, I guess we were celebrating mother's day early lol. We had thai food! It was definitely long overdue for me to go to the thai restaurant because I've been craving pad thai noodles and the works for quite some time now lol. If you've never had thai food, I'd definitely recommend it. After dinner, on our way home, we got into a very heated discussion which (to me) turned into an attack on me. My grandmother and aunt made the statement "people who get tattoos and piercings are unhappy with themselves," I didn't take this lightly at all. I was very offended and felt the need to stand up for my generation (because the conversation later lead to this age generation and our music, style, choices, etc). What are your opinions on body modifications and what not? I think I'll be making a video about this as well. Anywho, no more debbie downer, I hope everyone is having a great week(end) and I wish all the mother's out there a very special happy mother's day.
P.S. I wanted to watch the fight today but things didn't go as planned, boo for me. I hope Pacman wins!

Man, I feel like a woman! - Shania Twain
So, unintentionally, my mother and I have been "bonding" every sunday. Many know I never had the best of the best relationship with her but after many thing we've been through within the past year we've been working on our time with one another. Sunday, lately, just so happens to be the day we run errands and just hang out together. Today was a good day. Though the doctor told her to stay off her foot this week, she hasn't been listening haha, felt like we were everywhere today. Oh, we stopped by Marshalls today and they had soooo many wonderful scarves. I suggest you take advantage if you have one in your area, I bought a white infinity scarf for 10 bucks. Can't beat that. Before I end this post, I'd like to congratulate my cousin Max for coming in at 2nd place and making in to states in a bridge building contest that he was a part of for school. I'm proud of you sir. Hope everyone is having a great one (unfortunately I didn't have my camera again today, so no photos of what I did again lol).

Be there! The Fair!
(This was my favorite photo of the day)
So this weekend, aside from me becoming an official gym member of LA Fitness, I went to the Miami-Dade Youth Fair. I haven't been there in years but since I'll be leaving in I don't know how many months, I figured I'd go one last time for some good ol' memories, and that's indeed what I did. Stepping foot in there made my childhood come back. That's definitely one thing I'll miss about Miami. The rides surrounding me, the corndogs, the super sized plush prizes at the games, the shish kabobs (kebab, whatev), the cheap little shops (which sadly, I purchased nothing from), I love it all !! I was so excited that I've posted the photos damn near everywhere haha, so if you follow me on tumblr or you're a friend of mine on facebook, you've already seen the madness. . . if not, enjoy the photos after the jump.

Strawberry Fields
Today was a very good sunday. My mom and I went to this quaint little place called Ruson. It's a Japanese restuarant, very similar to Samurai & Benihana. The good was good, the prices were no different (we were told it was cheaper lol). After brunch, my mother got a pedicure and then we did a little shopping. I only bought two dresses, but I'm very satisfied because they were very inexpensive. Before we ended the day, we stopped by a field that lets you pick your own strawberries (amongst other fruits & veggies). So yes, my mom and I picked our own strawberries. Very cheap, 2 pounds only rang up to about 2 bucks and some change. I had a really nice day. My outfit was fairly casual, just wanted to have fun with two colors (orange and blue) but keep it really casual. Unfortunately, since I wasn't aware that any of this would take place, I didn't have my camera with me. Just my crappy digital and my blackberry lol. So enjoy the photos from my phone and my point & shoot ^_^

CHOPPED: I DID IT !!!
So after lots of friendly peer pressure, words of encouragement, and advice from my lovely friends I finally cut the rest of my relaxed ends off. Yes, you read correctly. . as of yesterday March 17th (St. Patrick's Day) I did the BC - big chop. As I was saying on one of my tumblr's I'm not confident with it, not yet at least, so I don't plan on wearing it out until it grows a little more or I can't deal with wearing weave. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I'm very proud of me taking this step, I'm just not used to having my hair so short and with this texture. Anywho, I'm excited. . . I feel like my journey officially began now that I can say I'm 100% natural. If you have any advice, tips, product recommendations let me know, I'm open to any and everything.
Don't I look happy hahaha, biggest smile in the world. Hope everyone is having a good day/ evening. Til we meet again ^_^

Simplicity on Sunday
Yesterday we celebrated Calle Ocho. For those who don't know what this is, it's a festival that takes place on 8th street (mainly filled with Cubans) but meant for every island/country/place . . . so Cubans, Dominicans, Jamaicans, Colombians, Nigerians, Puerto Ricans (etc) gather here, sell food, clothes, and accessories and sponsors like Power96 (a local radio station) put on a concert. Did I mention it's free? lol. The weather was beautiful !!!!! I kept my outfit simple b/c too many clothes will kill you out there haha.

Subliminals?
Lets get started, shall we?

Wasn't sure which image to use first, granted these weren't the best choices I went with them anyway lol. So, who exactly am I you ask? My friends call me Bini, but you can call me Sabine. I don't want to make this sound like an eharmony profile so let me just quickly run through the important details:
I'm 21 years old
Only Child
Soon to be an active duty soldier in the Air Force
Transitioning (on my way to being completely natural, woot)
Extremely attached to fashion (Duh!)
Dead pin up gypsy w/ tons of wise words = my past life
Advocate for all things beautiful
5'3 in reality but 6'7 in my head
Multi racial
Artist.
I think that's all that's important for now. Anything else will be mentioned along the way.
Back at it.

So technically this is my first post. In actuality, I've made numerous posts and just decided to delete them and start completely over. New URL, new heading, new posts.
I never truly got along with blogspot ::wompwomp:: but I'm giving it a second chance, simply because there are SO many blogs on here that I adore. I must admit, though, I've become a blogging junkie. I have tons of blogs (2 on tumblr, 1 wordpress, and this one). I'm just trying to decide which one I like best. I tend to gravitate toward tumblr because of how user friendly it is but bleh, I'm getting off topic.
So I'm welcoming myself back to good ol' blogger, this is where I started. Wish me luck.
